Review of "Army Of Thieves". Trying to be a thriller.

"Army Of Thieves" is a thriller initially released on 29th October, 2021. This movie is a prequel to Zack Synder's "Army Of  The Dead". It is directed by Matthias Schweighöfer. The movie is available on Netflix.

Summary- A popular jewelry thief recruits Ludwig Dieter, a pro safe opener to crack open some historical impossible-to-open safes. 

Story 

This prequel shows the life of Ludwig Dieter before he went to open the safe filled with money in it's sequel "Army Of The Dead". The story of this movie wasn't great and wasn't too bad too. Basically, the movie is exactly how it is explained in it's summary. The main characters did not had any motives behind cracking those impossible-to-crack safes, they were just doing it show the world how great of a gang they were. The story was a typical thief story, but even worse. 

Characters

The characters of the movie were nice and all the actors fitted there characters pretty well. The acting was also up-to-the mark, but it all goes to waste when the story was not good.

Cinematography

The camera work of this movie was pretty good, but the slow motion scenes felt useless at some points. Basically the slow motions weren't needed as that particular scene was not that important.

My thoughts 

This movie may sound like a thriller, but it really is not. This movie is exactly how it is explained in the summary. There is nothing interesting in the movie and the characters also didn't had any motives behind steeling and opening those safes. To put it simply, they are just doing this to prove that they can steel anything and they are the best. And to be very honest, we weren't even interested in Ludwig from "Army Of The Dead", we were expecting the story of what happened to the guy who escaped the building safely with money but got infected.

In the first 10-15 minutes it looked really interesting but as we proceed further it becomes more and more obvious and boring. There is nothing new and it basically shows the life of "Ludwig Dieter" before fighting the zombies in it's sequel "Army Of Dead". I will not recommend you to watch this film and waste your time.

Overall, I give this film a 2/5.
